Luggage for Life: Celebrating 33 Graduates

This school year, 33 students in our program are graduating, and we want to celebrate this incredible milestone while equipping them for the next step in their journey through Luggage for Life.

Over the years of walking alongside youth, we’ve learned something that breaks our hearts: many of the students we serve don’t own a suitcase. When they move or transition to a new chapter of life, their belongings are often carried in a trash bag.

We believe every student deserves to step into their future with dignity, hope, and confidence.

That’s why this year, as we celebrate these 33 graduates, we want to bless each student with a brand-new suitcase—a symbol of the journey ahead and a practical tool for the road in front of them. These suitcases will carry more than belongings; they will carry hopes, dreams, and the promise of a brighter future.

As an added blessing, we would love to place a $25 Walmart gift card inside each suitcase. This small gift can help graduates purchase essentials for their next step—whether that’s items for their first apartment, an interview outfit for a job, or supplies for college.

1. Donate Luggage: Purchase a suitcase from our Walmart Spark Registry! We especially love giving students bright and fun-colored suitcases that help them celebrate their new beginning!
2. Donate Gift Cards: Purchase $25 Walmart gift cards for our graduates. You can order them online and have them shipped directly to us, or connect with our team to coordinate pickup or drop-off.
3. Sponsor a Bag: Make a financial gift to sponsor a suitcase and gift card for a student. Your donation will help equip graduates with the practical tools they need for the next chapter of their lives.
